Fellowships for Intra-site short-term postings
MCTA has launched a fellowships programme for intra-site short-term postings.
Within this programme we pursue attachments to ongoing clinical trials and support site-exchange visits. The main objective is to enable scientists to be trained on a learning-by-doing basis in preparation for their own trials.
Postings at sites will be for periods of 1-2 weeks and up to a maximum of six months. African scientists from one site will go to another trial site to learn and bring back. Learning activities will include laboratory techniques, data analysis and field exposure and implementation. MCTA will also be asking advanced sites to support weaker sites. MCTA identifies the sites and the scientists in collaboration with the site leaders. MCTA will pay out a travel stipend to the scientists selected to cover travel, accommodation and living expenses.
There are no special application forms. Your free-form application should however include bio-sketches of the nominated staff and an indication of the specific skills you wish your staff to acquire during the attachment/visit. This would enable MCTA know which sites to contact.
MCTA will support sites that have already identified places to go. MCTA will help those who have not identified hosts.
There are no deadlines. However, given the fact that MCTA will need to identify potential hosts and agree on logistics, please submit your applications in good time before expected travel dates.
