Comprehensive Rural Health Services Project , India

(BALLARBGARH DSS)

 

The Comprehensive Rural Health Services Project (CRHSP) Ballabgarh was started in 1965. It is situated in the state of Haryana in Northern India. It is run by the All India Institute of Medical Sciences, New Delhi in active collaboration with the state government of Haryana, India.

 

Objectives

 

The primary objective of the project is to demonstrate a model health care delivery system, which is in tune with the national pattern of health care delivery system.

 

Training of public health personnel and community orientation of health care workers in various cadres ranging from grass root level health workers to post-graduate students in Public Health.

To carry out community based research activities in various aspects of health related areas.

 

Priority Research Areas

 

  • Primary health care

  • Reproductive and child health services, focusing on adolescent and neonatal health

  • Behavioral Surveillance and behavioral modification, in relation to communicable and non-communicable diseases.

  • Disease Surveillance at the community level, both for communicable and non –communicable diseases

  • Use of Information Technology in primary health care
